•From text: "The Carnarvon member is divisible into three subequal parts. The lower part is composed of cryptocrystalline limestone with stylolitic or thin shale partings in the base, grading upward to finely and coarsely crystalline limstones. The latter are partly altered to medium-crystalline dolomite, and are lenticular. The middle part is mainly alternating thin beds of cryptocrystalline and finely crystalline, argillaceous limestones with local fossil lenses and calcaresous, fucoidal shales. The upper part includes three cyclical units of cryptocrystalline to finely crystalline limestone, partly silicfied to chert in the middle of the beds, alternating with argillaceous, sparsely arenaceous, finely to medium-crystalline dolomitic limestones. The middle and upper parts of the member are fairly consistent throughout the area, but the lower part grades northward into thinly bedded alternations of shale and limestone or dolomitic limestone"
