When: Gerhardtia sartousiana ammonoid zone, Zapotitlán Formation, Late/Upper Barremian (130.0 - 125.5 Ma)

• Age based on the ammonite Gerhardtia sp. Although the identification of these ammonites is only at generic level, the stratigraphic range for this genus is very restricted (e.g. Vermeulen, 2003; Patarroyo, 2004, Reboulet et al., 2018). Gerhardtia has been reported in Europe and Africa, (e.g. Vermeulen, 2003; Klein et al., 2007); for the Americas, Gerhardtia was reported from Peru, Colombia and Mexico (e.g. Vermeulen, 2003; Ramírez-Garza, 2003; Patarroyo, 2004; Vermeulen and Klein, 2006), and elsewhere, this genus is restricted to the Gerhardtia sartousiana Zone of the standard Mediterranean ammonite zonation (Reboulet et al., 2018), which corresponds to the Lower Cretaceous (upper Barremian).
