When: Upper Member (Brechas de Buenavista Formation), Late/Upper Tithonian (150.8 - 145.0 Ma)

• member-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; lithified, black, sandy, calcareous shale and lithified, fine-grained sandstone

• This sequence was deposited in a shallow marine environment, surrounded by a rocky and steep coast.
• The member comprises marine rudites (breccias), feldespatic sandstones and siltstones. The fossils occurs on black shales and fine-grained sandstones. The shales have planar or wavy stratification. The sandstones show lenticular or wavy bedding.

Size class: macrofossils

• Bivalves, plants and fish remains are common. Only ammonites were studied.
