• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• basin-level geographic resolution

When: Bearpaw Formation, Late/Upper Campanian (83.5 - 70.6 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: In apparently conformable relationship the Bearpaw Formation succeeds the Belly River Formation in the southern Rocky Mountain Foothills, and the Judith River Formation eastwards across the plain. Conformably overlain in ascending order by the Eastend, Whitemud and Battle formations in the Cypress Hills of the Alberta-Saskatchewan borderland, in the South Saskatchewan River valley and other parts of southwestern Saskatchewan. AGE: Late Campanian, on the basis of ammonoid biostratigraphy; Baculites ovatus/compressus zone. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: List represents formation.

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution
