Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; lithified, black, gray, argillaceous limestone

• "Limestone, dark gray to black, argillaceous, bitminous; massive but thinly slabbing to shaly, especially in weak mid-portion; basal portion less argillaceous, more calcarenitic. Bryozoa and crinoidal remains abundant; numerous small brachiopods in basal portion."
