STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Mantle Volcanics Formation is 1300 m thick in this region and fossils were derived from talus boulders in the upper 600 m of the section. AGE: Assigned to the Sakmarian or possibly ?Sterlitamakian based on faunal composition. Previously regarded as Early Permian.
