• Horizon lies between the Bitterfeld main coal seam and the Breitenfeld seam. Bitterfeld amber formerly given a Miocene age (Sporomorph zone IIIA) but is actually redeposited Baltic amber.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; amber and massive, sandy claystone

• Amber producing horizon consists of a series of massive sandy-clay lenses.

Size class: mesofossils

• Animal is complete with body length 2mm. Interpreted as adult female

Preservation: soft parts, amber
