When: Arkona Shale Formation, Middle Devonian (393.3 - 382.7 Ma)

• Middle Devonian Arkona Shale, about fifteen feet below top of the formation, a thin lens (about 3.2 cm greatest thickness). A thin lens of crinoidal "hash" on which were exceptional numbers of platycerid gastropods.
