Przeworno 3 (Miocene of Poland)

Where: Poland (50.7° N, 17.2° E: paleocoordinates 51.0° N, 16.4° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Late/Upper Miocene (11.6 - 5.3 Ma)

• Beetle-bearing silica deposits are younger than the Przeworno fauna, but older than the clays filling the cave which contain an Upper Miocene or Pliocene pollen assemblage. Age of the fossil beetles may be determined as Upper Miocene.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: fissure fill; lithified chert

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils

Preservation: original chitin
