Massif de la Loube (Jurassic to of France)

Where: Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France (43.3° N, 6.0° E: paleocoordinates 32.4° N, 17.1° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Opalinum ammonoid zone, Toarcian to Toarcian (182.7 - 170.3 Ma)

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: open shallow subtidal; fine-grained limestone

• Seas of the lower Aalenian had communication with the open ocean, but became more cut off and lagoonal, favoring dolomite formation, in the upper Aalenian.
• Undulating gray limestone with a rich invertebrate fauna, ferruginous bands, fine-grained with few ammonites around the ichthyosaur remains, becoming finely bedded with distinct ammonite horizons, becomming dolomitic

Size class: macrofossils
