Where: San Juan, Argentina (30.3° S, 68.7° W: paleocoordinates 34.1° S, 134.9° W)
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Parakidograptus acuminatus graptolite zone, La Chilca Formation, Rhuddanian (443.4 - 440.8 Ma)
• Figure 2. In the Talacasto area the lowermost 0.60 m of the La Chilca Formation yielded a graptolite assemblage dominated by Persculptograptus persculptus (Salter) followed by species suggesting the Parakidograptus acuminatus Zone (from 0.6 m to 1.6 m), so that the Ordovician-Silurian boundary lies between those two zones (Cuerda et al., 1988).
