Skavråker (Ordovician to of Norway)

Where: Oslo, Norway (59.1° N, 9.7° E: paleocoordinates 31.9° S, 10.0° W)

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Skavraker Member (Steinvika Limestone Formation), Actonian to Actonian (454.0 - 449.5 Ma)

• member-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: deep subtidal shelf; lithified, bioturbated, argillaceous lime mudstone and shale

• Interbedded thinly laminated bioclastic calcilutites and argillaceous mudstones
• At SkavrÃ¥ker the lowermost 3.6 m of the member consist of pale calcilutites with subordinate argillaceous mudstones. The latter occur as thin, wispy, and discontinuous laminae and impart a reticulate aspect to the pale calcilutites. The mudstone is highly bioturbated.

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: cast
