When: Early/Lower Miocene to Early/Lower Miocene (23.0 - 5.3 Ma)

• Formal lithostratigraphic assignment of these beds remains unclear. The age of the conglomeratic strata is restricted by the age of the underlying Santa Cruz Formation, which in the study area was dated as early Miocene (18.1 ± 0.4 Ma) by Fosdick et al., 2011 (Pujana et al., 2015).

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; lithified, medium-grained conglomerate and lithified breccia

• The fossil material was collected from a 130 m succession of well-cemented, rounded, clast-supported, medium-sized conglomerates, with minor sandstone and mudstone intercalations(Pujana et al., 2015).

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: permineralized, replaced with carbon
