Hajnacka I/2 (Pliocene of Slovakia)

When: Villanyian (3.2 - 2.6 Ma)

• Gauss epoch, Late Pliocene, MN16, Villanyian. There are two localities - Hajnacka I and II, one to the north and one to the south of Hajnacka village. This is the one to the south.

Environment/lithology: lacustrine; tuff

• 'The fossils are found in limnic basin fillings with pyroclastic intercalations (tuffs, tuffite, lapilli, agglomerates).'
• Hajnacka I/2 is in one of three tuff layers. The micromammal remains were in a small lens amongst the mastodon bones.
