•Dating of detrital zircons from 120 m above the base of the formation and from the top of the formation has yielded a maximum age of 101.8 Ma (latest Albian) and a minimum age of 95.5 Ma (early Cenomanian; Krumenacker, 2010)

•"The fossiliferous horizon consists of a petroliferous fine-grained gray calcite-cemented sandstone with some caliche clasts. The fossil-bearing unit coarsens upward transitioning into sandstone with caliche and gypsum nodules."
