When: Pinjor Formation (Siwalik Group), Early/Lower Pleistocene (2.6 - 0.8 Ma)

• Upper Siwalik Subgroup, 2 km away from gravel deposits; Early Pleistocene (ca. 2.58–1.7 Ma).

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; coarse-grained sandstone

• The extreme softness of the coarse sandstone (less compact and lithified), erosion and the condition of the fossil indicate that the deposition of the strata was done by the slow flowing and scarce water.
