Environment/lithology: fluvial; gray claystone

• This bed is of supposedly fluviatile origin and also contains some fragmentary remains of larger mammals (i.e. Dolichopithecus).
• The fossiliferous bed is, in contrast to the other levels, a rather thick (40 cm) grey clay lens containing mollusc fragments.
