• "Most of the abundant plant fossils known from the Bucaco Basin have been collected from a grey interval containing a single, thin coal seam.....the Bucaco Basin differs from the other areas od late Stephanian C - Autunian ages in the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula in that it lacks the volcanic elements which form such a prominent characteristic of the latter." (p. 284)
