When: Palmarito Formation, Kungurian (279.3 - 272.3 Ma)

• Collected from middle part of 2 cubic metre exotic block. Brachiopod similarities tentatively compared with Word Formation (Roadian-Wordian), but Palmarito Fm contains Perrinites hilli and Parafusulina of Kungurian age.

Environment/lithology: open shallow subtidal; shelly/skeletal, brown, gray, silty wackestone

• Shallow, warm water of moderate current activity. Lack of noticeable amounts of terrigenous material suggests low-relief coastline. Less restricted than locality 3, as dolomite rhombs are lacking.
• Thick-bedded, petroliferous, light gray to tan silty limestones. Compositionally a spicular biomicrite; texturally a wackestone.
