Five Miles Northwest of Arki (Eocene of India)

Where: Himachal Pradesh, India (31.2° N, 77.0° E: paleocoordinates 10.6° N, 71.3° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Subathu Group, Lutetian (47.8 - 41.3 Ma)

• from the "lower beds" of the group

Environment/lithology: marine; poorly lithified, brown, calcareous siltstone

• "calcareous, yellowish-brown silt"

•presumably poorly lithified because (1) sediment is described as "silt" instead of "siltstone"; (2) specimens are not shown preserved in matrix; and (3) some specimens are casts

Preservation: cast
