Where: Antarctica (62.1° S, 58.2° W: paleocoordinates 62.0° S, 57.6° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Pliocene (5.3 - 2.6 Ma)
• Glaciomarine tillite-bearing deposits underlying basalting lavas at Magda Nunatak. These deposits have been correlated with the Polonez Cove Formation (Pliocene). According to Birkenmajer (1982) they are older than the Pliocene Polonez Cove Formation (glacial and glaciomarine sediments) and the underlying Mazurek Point Formation basaltic lavas (probably Pliocene), and belong to another glacial epoch older than thje Polonez glaciation.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
