Where: Indonesia (9.1° S, 124.9° E: paleocoordinates 8.8° S, 126.2° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Halibete Member (Batuputih Formation), Early/Lower Pleistocene (2.6 - 0.8 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Halibete Mbr, which liews between the Lahurus and Nuren Members (coral reef limestones) of the Batuputih Fm, Kupang Gp. THICKNESS: From unit of unknown thickness. AGE: Early Pleistocene, on the basis of the accompanying foraminiferal and nannofossil assemblag, which indicate the zone NN19 of Martini (1971). STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Unknown position within unit.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore; poorly lithified, shelly/skeletal, gray, yellow, silty claystone

• ENVIRONMENT: Deposition is inferred to have occurred between 150 and 250 m, the bottom being swept by relativly cold currents.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Yellowish-grey, silty clay. LITHIFICATION: Poorly lithified, presumed on the basis of age and facies description.

Size class: macrofossils
