When: Taylor Formation, Floran (507.0 - 505.0 Ma)

• The Taylor Formation has been correlated to the archaeocyathid-rich Skackleton Limestone, located several hundred miles to the northwest. The age/stage determiantions are based on work done by Encarnacion et. al PMPD# Reference 579

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: lithified, conglomeratic limestone and chert

• The sequence has been thermally metamorphosed to a slight degree by the Ordovician age Ross Orogeny.
• sequence of rocks at this locality is primarily interbedded limestone, chert, and felsic volcanic rocks, with lesser amounts of clastic rocks. specimens found in limestone breccia.

Collection methods: bulk,

• Majority of the collection consists of oblique, longitudinal and transverse sections of tubes all attributed to one organism (Cloudina?). An additional trilobite fragment was found but not identified. It should be noted that the trilobite fragment precludes a PreCambrian age.
