Gnieżdżewo (Gnieiżdżiewo) (Silurian of Poland)

Also known as Podlasie Beds, Baltic Coastal Plain, Tentaculitida and Dacryoconarida

Where: Poland (54.8° N, 17.6° E: paleocoordinates 17.1° S, 1.2° W)

• coordinate based on political unit

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Monograptus bouceki–Monograptus perneri graptolite zone, Dzvenygorod Formation, Pridoli (423.0 - 419.2 Ma)

• Podlasie beds in the Leba elevation in the Upper Silurian. PJW: Other papers (in Polish) indicate that Silurian rocks from Gnieżdżewo are from the Monograptus bouceki–Monograptus perneri zones. Assuming that these are the same rocks as in Podoliak, then this is the Dzvenygorod formation. This should be considered tentative!!!!

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; green claystone

• monotonous greenish claystones

Size class: macrofossils
