• General for this succession of communities: "Unlike the Carnic Alps, the Silurian-Devonian of Sardinia displays a far less variegated facies picture, being almost exclusively developed in shallow to deeper pelagic environments, with the minor exception of the Emsian Mt. Padenteddu mud mound." For this community: "Although found also at the boundary with the Coral-Stromatactis Community [PBDB coll. 26128], this is typical of limestones intercalated with shales or with massive limestones, where this community is dominant; BA 5-6."
