• AGE ASSIGNMENT: Middle Oligocene according to Vaughan et al.. Additionally, the authors state that the assignment of the Oligocene age has more to do with their dissimilarity to overlying Miocene assemblages than similarities with other regional Oligocene faunules (based on forams and corals). I have assigned this an Early to Late Oligocene age, pending more refined biostratigraphic data. STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: no stratigraphic data provided.
