Oued Ali Formation (Middle Member) at Oued Ali (Silurian to of Algeria)

Where: Algeria (29.8° N, 2.3° W: paleocoordinates 72.2° S, 37.7° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Oued Ali Formation, Ludlow to Ludlow (427.4 - 419.2 Ma)

• Middle Member, several collecting levels whose graptolite faunas collectively suggest ages between Early Ludlow and Pridoli.

• member-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore; shale and limestone

• Formation is between the Ougarta Group sandstones below and the Zeimlet Formation sandstones above.

•SEP environmental call based on scanty given information and geological context provided by source ref (PDBD 7455). Note that this unit is mud dominated but contains fairly abundant limestone beds.

• Noted are graptolitic shales, gypsiferous shales, and limestone interbeds.
