Col. 301313, Loc. 3, J.P. Koch Fjord, Peary Land, Greenland - Babcock 1994 (Cambrian of Greenland)

Where: Greenland (81.7° N, 17.8° W: paleocoordinates 20.4° S, 42.9° W)

• coordinate based on political unit

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: lower Lejopyge laevigata zone, Kap Stanton Formation, St Davids (513.0 - 501.0 Ma)

• Collections GGU301312, 301313, and 313115 are from the same stratigraphic level.

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: lithified, pyritic, black, gray mudstone

• mudstone, dark grey or black in color, thin bedding to millimeter thick laminae, and lack of burrowing. Most bedding surfaces are planar and nearly parallel to slightly undulatory and discontinuous. Minor constituents are spar, clay and silt-sized siliclastics, and pyrite.

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: recrystallized

Collection methods: Specimens collected by staff and associates of the Geological Survey of Greenland. In addition to the trilobites, some spicules (unknown size) are found in the mudstone along with rare inarticulate brachiopods.
