• A total thickness of ~310 m of upper Onzole Formation is exposed along sea cliffs and wave-cut platforms.

Environment/lithology: deep-water; fine-grained mudstone

• Facies relations, paleontologic data and regional geologic setting sugggest sediment accumulation in a basin situated oceanward of the Pliocene trench-slope break.
• Fine-grained mud turbidites

Preservation: original aragonite
