Comments: This paper deals with the study of Etayoa bacatensis gen. n. sp. represented by a left mandibular ramus found in the Bogotá Formation (Middle Paleocene?) at the south of Bogota city; the specimen is compared with Cardonia and the primitive Astrapotheres. On the basis of anatomical and teeth characteristics it is concluded that Etayoa may be separated as a new family in the order Xenungulata, and phylogenetically the new genus, hence the Order, could be related to the Astrapotheria more than to the Pyrotheria.
