Comments: In 1937 Astre described Spirographies ellipticus as a Sabellid worm from the Late Cretaceous (Garumn facies) in the Catalonian pre-Pyrenees (NE of Spain). Their external morphologic features and internal structures has led to a reinterpretation of this taxon as a trace fossil and not as an internal mould of a worm. The trace-makers are related to the burrowing activity of nonmarine arthropods, probably crustaceans, spiders or insects.
