Comments: series editor: W. Quenstedt. Rough translation of Kuhn's introduction: "V. Huene has already treated the Triassic Saurischia in the Fossilium Catalogus. Later the processing of the Jurassic and Cretaceous Saurischia was announced by Prof. Janensch in Berlin. After I had already compiled most of the fossil reptiles for the Fossilium Catalogus, I asked Prof. Janensch to hand over the dinosaurs to me so that all reptiles could be closed as soon as possible. Prof. Janensch gladly complied with this request and also Prof. von Huene in Tübingen allowed me to bring additions to his work published in 1914. I would like to thank both gentlemen for this. I do not need to go into the general way in which my material is grouped. I have already explained this in previous issues. In this respect, there was a slight deviation from the earlier classification of the material, as the suborders were sometimes more sharply separated according to stratigraphic points of view. This was done in order to simultaneously read v. Huene's large monograph on the fossil reptile order Saurischia, Berlin 1932. Without this work one will not be able to work well on this reptile order in the future and it also served me very well in the preparation of this catalog."
