• LITHOSTRATIGRAPHY: From the Cayo Agua Formation, which is equivalent in age to the upper part of the Shark Hole Point Fm and the lower part of the Escudo de Veraguas Fm, no contacts are known. AGE: Early Pliocene (Zanclean) in text. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: At a height of 43.5 m in section 20 of Coates & Collins (1999).

Environment/lithology: coastal; poorly lithified, bioturbated, shelly/skeletal, gray, blue, silty sandstone

• LITHOLOGY: From Collins et al. 1999 (p. 29), pervasively bioturbated gray blue, muddy, silty, lithic sandstone with comon horizons of abundant thick shelled mollusks and ahermatypic corals.

•LITHIFICATION: Not stated in text, but known to be poorly lithified by enterer; figured specimens appear to have been cleaned of sediment.
