• Probably Quaternary representatives of modern species (Gasparini et al. 2021), rather than late Miocene species, as originally proposed by Frailey and Campbell (2012), who had previously written:

•Two specimens with good stratigraphic control were collected by the authors in 2003 on the Inuya River, LACM localities 7521 and 7526, the latter a type locality. The latter two specimens were collected from surface deposits originating from the Acre Conglomerate.

•Campbell et al., 2001: Acre conglomerate of Madre de Dios fm = 9.01Ma
