Where: Japan (32.3° N, 130.4° E: paleocoordinates 45.0° N, 126.0° E)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Hobashiraiwa Member (Eboshi Formation), Middle Albian to Middle Albian (109.0 - 99.6 Ma)
• The basement granitic rocks overlain by the Eboshi Formation are dated as 103–108 Ma (early Albian: Nagakawa et al., 1997). The Eboshi Formation underlies the Hokahira Member, which contains the late Albian ammonoid, Mortoniceras (s. s.) aff. rostratum (Matsumoto and Tashiro, 1975). Probably the Eboshi Formation is middle to late Albian in age.
