Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; lithified floatstone

• This outcrop is located in the eastern side of the Agri Valley, at the eastern side of the Agri Valley, at the easternmost part of the Mesozoic Apennine chain. Thickness of nearly 100 m.
• The Upper Cretaceous carbonate succession is mainly constituted of bioclastic and biointraclastic whitish limestone with a rich and well diversified fossil fauna typified by rudists, chondrodontids and nerineid gastropodes referable to the CE (Cenomanian) interval.
