Reef unit 2, top of the reef (Jurassic of Morocco)

Where: Morocco (30.6° N, 9.6° W: paleocoordinates 28.0° N, 5.4° W)

• coordinate estimated from map

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Lalla Oujja Formation, Late/Upper Oxfordian (161.2 - 155.7 Ma)

• Kimmeridgian. Bimammatum - Planula interval.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; lithified reef rocks

• This reef unit 2 is laterally continuous over several hundred of metres and does not seem to display lateral thickness variations. Neither inter-reef nor lateral-reef sediments areas were observed.

•It is overlain by a massive, peloidal, reef clast grainstone-rudstone (locally packstone) 80 cm thick.

• Massive bed.

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils
