• Lake probably ~5 km across. Lake probably ~5 km across. Basin related to activity of major ENE-WSW to NE-SW striking faults. Basin structure explained as a result of early-middle Miocene reactivation of basin-bounding fractures as normal faults.
• Laminated gray mudstones (oil shales) and interbedded rhythmite beds
