Where: Maiduguri, Nigeria (12.1° N, 13.1° E: paleocoordinates 5.4° S, 5.3° E)

When: Bima Formation (Bornu Basin Group), Albian to Albian (113.0 - 93.9 Ma)

Environment/lithology: lacustrine; lithified, gray, argillaceous, silty shale

• Lithologic unit 1 was found to be composed of light grey shale, clay laminae and shows no effervescence. The environment of deposition of this lithologic unit was deduced to be lacustrine environment.

Size class: microfossils

Preservation: original sporopollenin
