Bakonyszücs Borehole Bsz-3, sample1 (Triassic of Hungary)

Where: Hungary (47.3° N, 17.7° E: paleocoordinates 0.4° N, 30.3° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Sandstone Member (Hidegkut Formation), Early/Lower Triassic (252.2 - 247.2 Ma)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: foreshore; bioturbated, red, sandy siltstone and argillaceous siltstone

• shallow marine shelf, the bottom of if was frequently reached by stormwaves
• The carbonate content of red clastics is low (<25 %). The red sand- and siltstones are parallely stratified, with uneven or nearly falt beding planes covered by mica grains. The alternatively stratification of lighter silty and darker clayey laminae or beds is characteristic.
