Where: Russian Federation (50.6° N, 112.8° E: paleocoordinates 53.6° N, 111.4° E)
When: Tinginskaya Formation, Early/Lower Cretaceous (145.0 - 100.5 Ma)
• The Urey deposits were originally placed in the Tinginskaya Formation (Early Cretaceous), but Sinitza et al. (2007) suggested a Middle Jurassic age according to the presence of Ferganoconcha subcentralis. Here we tentatively suggest an Early Cretaceous age rather than Middle Jurassic as supported by the new finding of the staphylinid genus Sinoxytelus.
Environment/lithology: terrestrial; lithified mudstone
Size class: macrofossils
Preservation: adpression
Reposited in the PIN
