Pine River Bridge Section (Triassic of Canada)

Where: British Columbia, Canada (55.5° N, 122.7° W: paleocoordinates 32.6° N, 52.6° W)

When: Pardonet Formation (Schooler Creek Group), Norian (228.0 - 208.5 Ma)

Environment/lithology: open shallow subtidal; lithified, dolomitic, pyritic, black, gray, argillaceous limestone and calcareous siltstone

• The whole complex consists of a dark grey to blackish, silty, slightly argillaceous, pyritic and bituminous limestone dolomitized in varying degree and locally grading into a strongly calcareous siltstone or mudstone of very similar appearance. The lower beds are somewhat thinner bedded and more arenaceous than the upper ones.
