• Upper Jurassic, Middle Volgian, Late Tithonian, Zaraiskites scythicus Zone, Zaraiskites zarajskensis Subzone, Corbulomima obscura horizon. Thin-bedded in middle of unit III.

• The Corbulomima horizon in the higher portion of the section (i.e. unit III) was laid down in a very shallow marine basin (perhaps lagoon), which had rather limited links with the open sea.
