• "The Ittiri Section (Fig. 3B) consists of approximately 5 m of sandy sediments within the Marne di Borutta Formation."

Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; calcareous sandstone

• "moderate- to low-energy sublittoral environment"
• "Facies Ittiri-C consists of one meter of well-sorted, fine calcareous sandstone similar to Facies Ittiri-B, although the fossil content consists of irregular echinoids belonging to genus Schizaster and pectinid remains." When underlain by Facies Ittiri-B, contact is gradual.
