Where: Italy (41.8° N, 15.4° E: paleocoordinates 41.7° N, 15.3° E)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Calcari a Briozoi Formation, Gelasian (2.6 - 1.8 Ma)
• Brachiopods presumably from the Calcari a Briozoi Formation or overlying Serracapriola Formation (both contain brachiopods according to Bertok et al., 2013). Globorotalia inflata allows the Calcari a Briozoi fossil assemblage to be referred to the subzone MP16 of Sprovieri (1992) corresponding to the Gelasian Stage. The Serracapriola Formation is not older than Gelasian but may be Early Pleistocene (Calabrian).
