When: T. australis Zone conodont zone, Hoher Trieb Formation, Middle Devonian (393.3 - 382.7 Ma)

Environment/lithology: lithified limestone

• The section begins with 2.8 m of nodular grey-ochre limestone of the La Valute Fm., sharply passing to nodular reddish limestone of the Findenig Fm., here reduced to 1.2 m. Biostratigraphic data suggest that the lower part of the unit is here missing. The upper part of the section belongs to the Hoher Trieb Fm. and consists of alternations of grey massive coarse-grained grainstone and breccia, nodular wackestone and packstone, thin-bedded light grey wackestone and black shales.
