When: Pelekysgnathus serratus conodont zone, Findenig Formation, Early/Lower Devonian (419.2 - 393.3 Ma)

Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; lithified wackestone and lithified mudstone

• This unit is represented by 20 m of reddish nodular mudstones and wackestones. Orthoceratid nautiloids and hardly visible dacryconoarids (Alberti 1985) are the only fossils observable in the field. The Lochkovian/ Pragian boundary is drawn just above the formation boundary by the occurrence of the dacryoconarid No - wakia acuaria (Richter) at the base of the Findenig Fm. (Schönlaub 1980, Alberti 1985).
