• Thick sequence of alternating terrestrial and marine sediments and interbedded lava flows of Pliocene and Pleistocene age; mostly fossiliferous marine sandstone with intermittent terrestrial or estuarine lignite beds and muddy sandstone; from Mactra biozone

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: estuary or bay; unlithified sandstone

• Near intersection of the axial zone of rifting and volcanism and the Tjornes Fracture Zone; described as horst; tectonically active in the Pliocene-Pleistocene
• Sandstone with intermittent lignite beds and muddy sandstone

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: original aragonite, replaced with calcite
