Environment/lithology: terrestrial; concretionary, calcareous limestone and sandstone

• described as "continental sediments" on the map legend
• "The rocks...correspond to sandstones, limestones, conglomerates, and caliches, intercalated with lavas and andesitic breccias and various volcanic rocks. Between these last is a conspicuous layer of rhyodactitic litic tuff, which could reach 10 m thickness...The bones appear in a marly limestone stratum 10 m thick with decimeter-sized calcareous concretions. The smallest pieces were found as rollings, whereas the larger piece was included in the limestone." (translation, M. Carrano)
