• Upper Vallesian, MN10, Miocene

Environment/lithology:

• 'The section shows 3m of irregularly bedded limestone (exposed along the road) followed by 0.9m of white soft marly limestone, 25cm of black lignitic marl, 0.5m of grey limestone and 15cm of black lignitic clay. The black lignitic clay contains some molluscs and remains of smaller mammals, this is the PER4 locality.'
